The natural wool is basically undyed white, but if you check it carefully, you will find that there is a mixture of different coloured wools and organic matter such as dead grass and straw. We try to remove as much of this as possible during the making of the room shoes, and we also use special tools for white wool (so that wool of other colours do not get mixed in), but there is always a little bit left over.
On the other hand, if we don't remove the small dusts and black wools because we want to make a "natural" felt, the result will not be beautiful... It's easy to see.
Most white wool products have been bleached by aggressive chemicals or carbonised by exposing organic matter such as dead grass to high temperatures to turn it into charcoal. (Wool can withstand relatively high temperatures, but it is degraded from its natural quality.)
The wool we use in Hemskor is the natural wool from the sheep, washed with only olive soap and water to maintain the highest quality, so it is inevitable that there is some organic matter in the wool. So please understand that we try to remove as much as possible, but the wool is still natural white.
By the way, you may think that white wool felted room shoes are easy to get dirty. However, wool felt is stain resistant and water repellent, so it will not get dirty easily. If you want to wash it, you can do so with water.
Last but not least, we would like to point out that the price of the natural white felt is higher because of the extra time and effort required to remove organic matter (dead grass, etc.).
